Topic: Keeping Your Head Up In Tough Times: Winning the Mental Game of Work
Presenter: Jerry Jerome
Everyone is being stretched and stressed these days. With more work being done with fewer people, personal and organizational stress levels are at an all-time high. Beyond this challenging workplace reality, there is the ever-present fear of more staff reductions if the recession doesn’t rebound quickly enough. These are extraordinarily challenging times for anyone working in Human Resources.
No one feels this stress more intensely than those who have already lost their jobs. Being unemployed puts tremendous pressure on every area of a person’s life. How do you keep your head up during a period of extended unemployment in an overcrowded job market? Clearly, to be “fit” for work after experiencing a layoff or termination takes more than a great resume and solid interviewing skills. It takes something more. Whether currently employed or not, to be successful at work requires “Mental Fitness.”
This one-hour presentation will provide essential tools and techniques to develop the psychological strength and resilience needed to “keep your head up in tough times.” Beyond your technical HR expertise, it is critical to learn how to win the mental game of work, or how to “manage your morale” regardless of the circumstances you face. The skills covered in this seminar will be useful to you personally and professionally as you work with others who are struggling in these challenging times.
You will learn:
• 30 simple strategies to quickly and easily lift your mood and morale
• Key psychological principles and practices for mindset management
• Career transition skills to stay focused, positive and productive
• New “mental maps” for managing the challenge of turbulent change
• A “Game Plan” for putting this information immediately to work for you
