There are many opportunities to become involved with VSHRA. Whether it be our monthly membership meetings at our three chapters throughout the Valley, or one of our special networking or program events, you have a vast array of venues to meet other HR professionals, learn or enhance your HR knowledge, earn HRCI credits, or give back to the community.

In early December, our three chapters come together for an end of year, holiday special event. This is a chance to enjoy chatting about the year’s activities, meet new friends, win raffle prizes, and share your plans for the coming year with your HR friends and associates.

Throughout the year, VSHRA sponsors various special events. From professional development to networking, each event adds a special component to enhance the value to our members. Two of our highlighted events each year include: 

This event, held early in the year, is a sponsored event by the Arizona State SHRM Council and participating SHRM chapters throughout the state. This is an incredible opportunity to meet our State representatives and politicians, share opinions, and directly influence employment related issues of importance to human resource professionals.

Typically in October, Author’s Day is a special event for attending members who not only enjoy our monthly networking luncheon, but in addition have the opportunity to listen to a local or nationally recognized author and receive a copy of their book as well!

The VSHRA Community Involvement Committee encourages membership support for our various community activities. There are several projects and opportunities throughout the year where members can truly make a difference. 

On a quarterly basis, the Community Involvement Committee sponsors donation drives and special work projects that benefit HomeBase as well as UMOM. We have a summer donation drive in June/July and a Tree Angel Gift donation program during the December holidays.
